Melissa Sheller describes her walk with God as a “long obedience in the same direction”. She came to Christ at the age of 14 after experiencing a serious car accident that made her consider her eternal future. Having heard the message of the Gospel from a televised Billy Graham event, while recovering from the accident, she committed her life to follow and serve Him.
The consistent theme of her life is a combination of health and wellness and caring for people. She holds both a Bachelors and Masters of Science in Exercise Science. She has worked as a teacher, trainer, adjunct faculty member, medical device sales professional and has served in numerous roles in the faith based non-profit community. Hearing the truth about the incredible destruction of life and lives that occurs through abortion, she has been a passionate supporter of the pro-life movement for many years. She has served as a pregnancy resource lay counselor and was a senior leader and on the Board of pro-life organizations for over 20 years. She and her husband, Michael, adopted 2 children from teenage birth moms who were placing their children for adoption.
She was given every opportunity to grow and flourish in life, from having loving parents, a good education, great health, the resources to go to college and graduate school, supportive friends and family and a relatively trauma free life. The blessing of God and the hard work that came with those opportunities allowed her to develop leadership skills and a broad skill set to advance God’s Kingdom. Her passion is to create opportunities for others who have not had the opportunities that she has had and to share the freedom giving message of Jesus to all who will listen.
Melissa lives in Scottsdale, Arizona with her husband Michael and their dog, Kai. She serves on several non-profit boards and continues to actively serve in prison ministry as a teacher and mentor to women who want to walk out their faith inside and outside of prison.
